It's been a while...

To say it's been a busy year in my office would be a serious understatement...So I'm back to say hey to everyone and wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!! YES, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! Not Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings.....MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! On another note, I found this quote and wanted to share it.

COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality. It is the words that speak boldly of your intentions...And, the actions which speak louder than the words. It is making the time where there is none. Coming through time after time, year after year. Commitment is the stuff character is made of: the power to change the face of things. It is the daily triumph of integrity over skepticism.

This hangs in our office to remind us every day of why we do what we do. To all other peace officers out on the job, remember, WE WORK FOR GOD!!!!!! Here's to another year of success and safety.

The Fall classic.....

Happy Halloween everybody!...With the exception of Christmas, this is the greatest holiday of the year....You gotta love shopping for a costume at your favorite department store and trying on masks....My 16 year old loved the fact I was acting like a complete goof and yelling out "You will respect my author-i-tie!....I was still able to get her to take the pic for me though....Be safe and have fun!

There are just some things you shouldn't do anymore.....

Okay...so I've talked about how much I love my job right?....I get a call about a month ago from a buddy who works at the agency I used to work for....While working there I was an agitator for the K9 unit as back then I had high aspirations to become a K9 officer....For whatever reasons that didn't work out and I am where I am and love what I do....But from time to time I have always helped out whenever they needed an extra agitator for training and what not....So during this recent call he asked me to be an agitator for the K9 trials being held by his agency....I said sure why not?....I remember how much fun it was and being around the awesome power of a police K9....GOOD TIMES!!!!!....It was a great trial and I was the agitator for what they call muzzle work....As you can see in the photos I was the bad guy with a gun and the dogs get to pummel me with there covered snouts and huge front paws....I was originally told I would be in a full bite suit which keeps me from being bruised, scratched, and most importantly BIT!!!....But when I arrived I was informed I wasn't needed for the bite suit but for the muzzle work....(I think it was intentionally given to me like this over the phone so I would agree to help). Unfortunately for me the fun didn't last past the next morning as it took a friggin fork lift to get my beat up 39 1/2 year old body out of bed....Which I am still feeling today and probably will feel until the end of the week....There are just some things you shouldn't do anymore.

The KING!!!!!

The greatest guitarist ever!!!!

NEVER Forget!!!!!!!

Hard to believe it's been 7 years since 19 POS cowardly bastards attempted to destroy this nation. I won't repeat all the cliches that have been created since this terrible day. All I will say is that I will NEVER forget the sacrifice made by the brothers and sisters of NYPD, NY/NJ Port Authority PD, and FDNY. If you see a cop or fireman today just smile and say thanks.

Are you as sick of this as I am???

I've been a Raiders fan since I was a littel kid. I grew up in Fremont where everything for me was Raiders and A's. This year was a disappointment with the A's but they have kept themselves in the hunt for the playoffs in recent years. With the exception of 2002, the Raiders have sucked for the last two decades. We had a great coach in Jon Gruden but the powers that be (Damn you Al Davis!!!!) cut him loose and he respectfully left to Tampa Bay. He then respectfully KICKED OUR ASSES in the Super Bowl the next year. The time has come. Either Al Davis needs to die or maybe I need to decide if it's time to give another team my support. Don't get me wrong, I love the Raiders and always will. But I want something to cheer about, not something where I walk into the office the next morning and hear the ration of shit from everyone who follows the front runners (Damn Cowboy fans). Help me Obi One Kenobi, you're our only hope!!!!

2 weeks in Sacramento....

I've been away for awhile. Spent 2 weeks in Sacramento learning how to be a better investigator. Learned about scenes, bugs, viewed an autopsy, good stuff man!!! Sacramento was a fun place as well. Visited the Capitol and the Peace Officers Memorial. If you get the chance to see this do so. Old Sac was cool as well. Joe's Crab Shack was a frequent hang out for us. But the area called Natomas was probably the best part aside from the training. Lots of places to eat, shop, and most of all view the scenery (see photo). The one on my right is Virginia from Tennessee, and the one on my left is Rachel from Sacramento. It's so good to be a man!!! I swear we only go for the food. I highly recommend the naked wings, all drums, with medium hot sauce, topped off with one (or two or three...) 24 oz. Bud Light drafts. The mugs are ice cold and ice flows off of the sides as you are drinking. Perfect!!!! I gained back about 5 pounds while there, but it was worth it and I have dropped 2 of those pounds since I got back.

I know there's a 6 pack in there somewhere....

Ok, so it's been 3 weeks since my weigh in for the weight loss contest at work....I weighed in at 246 fat ass pounds....This morning I weighed myself at the gym and I'm feeling pretty damn good about myself.....235 baby!....11 pounds in 21 days....Not to mention I feel physically better every day that passes and my clothes are getting too big....Mind you I still have a spare tire....but now it's a 70 series tire instead of a 50 series....I know there's a 6 pack in there somewhere....I just have to get through the 18 pack that's in front of it!!!!

You have to love your work...

Okay. I've been doing this for about 14 years and whenever I start to get down about work something happens to always put me back on track and show why I love my work....I'll be brief....marijuana garden....eradication....the mope points a gun at an officer....I get to investigate it....the only mode of transpotation....just look at the photo.....WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!

Now I feel better....

I was at the gym this morning and while working out I saw something that made I need to share. I saw a guy running on the same treadmill I had been on last week. As he was running all of the sudden the treadmill screached to a hault. He had the same dumbfounded look on his face as I did. I must it admit I had to chuckle at his expense. But it gets better. After about another five minutes on the treadmill, you guessed it, "SCREACH!!!!!!" Needless to say I was now laughing my ass off and now I feel better.

WTF!!!!

Why is it whenever you think you're totally justified in being upset over something your wife had done, it comes back to make you look like an ass??? It's like there's an invisible barrier around the women that only the women can see. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE WOMEN!!!! Especially my woman. But I gotta say it sucks when 99.9 % of the time I think I am right, it turns not to be. Even though deep down I am probably right (at least I think I am). I guess I will figure it out one of these days but for now it's still a struggle. And it has been since the first love of my life. Yeah I know, I know, I sound like a Dr. Phil episode, sorry. But it was on my mind and I needed to vent. So, WTF????????

I've confirmed why I am exercising again...

Okay, they say you should be able to laugh at yourself. Well I had a laugh this morning that I know you will enjoy. It's 5:15 am and I am running on the treadmill. I get about 5 minutes into it and the treadmill makes a sudden stop....almost causing me to ram right into the mid bar of the machine. The weird thing was it happened right at the 5 minute mark..,so I'm thinking I just messed up on the time setting. Ok, so I reset it for another 10 minutes and keep going. Not a minute later, BOOM, it screaches to halt again. Again, almost sending me into the mid bar. Now here's the funny part. I've been a cop for 14 years and I put my highly trained self into investigation mode. When I run I have always stayed very close to the mid bar as I've always not wanted to be that guy who falls off of the back of treadmill. So, when I look down at the mid bar trying to figure out why it's stopping suddenly, I see there is a red plastic emergency stop button in direct line with where my belly is when I'm running. Yes, you guessed it, my spare tire was hitting the damn emergency button as I was keeping close to the mid bar. Now in my defense (stop laughing Lali) every machine I've jogged on in the past had a lanyard you attached to your shirt as the kill switch. So after getting over the fact I was a complete dumb ass, and making sure the other people in the gym weren't holding back their laughter, I backed up a bit and finished my run, confirming why I am exercising again.

Greetings!

Ok, so I have this friend who convinced me to start my own blog...So here it is!!! I'll be honest my online activity is pretty much limited to online poker and some adult oriented material every now and then (mostly now, heh heh)....But I'm looking forward to getting this going and see what it brings to the table....

I am a huge Dream Theater fan and long for the day I can play my guitar 1/10 of the way John Petrucci plays....I am a firm believer you are never given anything you can't handle....Live each day to the fullest....CARPE DIEM!!!!!
